Compartment sinks are usually used for different types of washes. The sinks are named depending on the number of wash basins that they have. We have three main types of sinks depending on the number of basins. The three types include; the hand sinks, the preparatory sinks and the dishes sinks. The hand sinks have one basin and as their name suggests, they are used to wash the hands on. They are mainly found in the bathrooms and the toilets. They are made up of different materials which includes; ceramic, cast iron, soapstone, marble, enamel coated steel,glass,stone,just to mention a few since the list is long.
The two compartment sinks on the other hand have either one or two basins and they are used in the kitchen. They serve the same purpose with the three compartments and are used when washing dishes. The only difference between them is the number of basins. The three compartments have three bowls .The first bowl is used when washing, while the second one is used when rinsing ad the third one for sanitizing them. Both sinks are made up of stainless steel material which never rusts. Most hotels and restaurants use this type of compartments.
